Q: Will my name look generic, or like it has been added on?
A: Never generic! It will always look EXACTLY the way it does in the
advertisement. Except that your name will be there instead. It isn't typed on
or somehow added, but it is right there from the beginning, before we make
your product.

Q: Wow! Do you mean it's done in the same font style and color as
advertised?
A: Yes. But that's not all! Because your name is fully integrated with the
overall design, any faux aging, dirtiness, yellowing, or a paint peeling
effect used will also affect your name. In other words, it really will look like
the sign was originally made with your name on it - but more than 50
years ago! It looks much better than the ad pictures can ever show! |

Q: It seems too good to be true - is it?
A: Not if you take good care of your sign, keeping it indoors and out of sunlight like you would for any
piece of art.
In order to make them personalized AND look so ultra cool at the same time, we use inkjet technology,
with super long lasting pigment-based inks. Treat your sign as a work of art - hang it somewhere safe,
and you'll enjoy it for many years to come!
Q: How do I tell you what I want on my sign?
A: Simply send us an email and let us know how you would like yours personalized. There are
instructions in the item description for each personalized item which will explain what can be changed,
and how much room there is for personalizing. If there is any doubt, just ask.
| Q: How many letters or words can you put on my sign? |
Too long, letters small: |
A: This depends on which sign we are making. Many signs are set up for
just changing a name, but some allow for additional changes. Again,
please see the item description for guidelines and a picture of the sign in
question.
We don't have a strict limit on the number of letters, since we stretch or
shrink them to look their best. But please note that if we try to put a name
which is too long for the space available, then the final product may not
look as nice as it normally should. The same thing can apply to extremely
short names, or when using initials. |

Also - since we don't just type your name into a generic empty
box, each sign is different. Some may only allow for one word to
be changed, while others might allow two or three, or even a
short phrase. |

Q: What kind of words are not allowed?
A: Wording which contains trademark violations, profanity, or other language deemed by us to be
illegal, immoral, libelous, defamatory, crude, lewd, or in poor taste will not be allowed.
It's true that some retro products sold elsewhere may find humor in juxtaposing yesterday's imagery
with questionable subject matter or crude language, here at New Retro Signworks, we want our signs to
depict the wholesome, family-friendly attitude which retro normally suggests.
We don't like having to contact a paying customer to say, "Um, gee, sorry, but what you have
requested is simply unacceptable!" This makes everyone uncomfortable...
So here is a quick rule of thumb: Imagine that your sign will be personalized by an off-duty preacher, to
be read aloud by a first-grade student in front of a group of sweet old ladies...

Q: What about spelling and punctuation?
Each sign or product has different design features. Words might be capitalized, or even in all capital
letters. Usually your name will be done just as it looks in the ad - but if there should be any question,
we will contact you for clarification. |
