What is the Best Way to Shop Our Site?

Because some of our designer gowns are limited in size, we recommend shopping by finding your size range and searching in your size category first (in the left navigation bars).

What Size Gown Should You Purchase?

One of the most important things about ordering your bridal gown is the fit. Bridal gowns run smaller than regular dresses and the measurements for the same size may vary by designer. Rather than use one generic measurements chart, we give you the actual measurements of each gown per the designer.

You may notice the same size gown showing different measurements; this is because the gowns are made by different designers. Each designer uses their own size chart. You can’t assume a size 10 gown from designer “A” will fit the same way as a size 10 gown from designer “B”.

To ensure proper fit and to avoid returns, we recommend having your measurements taken by a seamstress. Please use your measurements and cross-reference them with the measurements we provide for each of our gowns.

Please keep in mind, bridal gowns are fitted garments; therefore, it is unlikely you will find a gown to match your exact measurements. The key is to match the gown measurements as close to yours as possible.

Most gowns will need some alteration for proper fit. They normally have a 2” seam allowance (1” on each side); thus, gowns can usually be taken in at least 1-2 sizes and out 1” to 1.5”.

Bust: This is NOT your bra size. This is the measurement around your chest at the fullest part of your breasts. While being measured, your arms should be at your side and relaxed.

Hips: This is the measurement at the fullest part of your hips. Find your hip bones and measure there.

Waist (also know as “natural waist”): Around the narrowest part of your stomach above your hips.

Hollow to Hem: Find the hollow at the base of your throat. Looking straight ahead, measure straight down to where you want the hem of the dress to fall.

A good seamstress can do wonders and so can a good corset. Bows and sleeves can be removed or added and so can straps.

An additional crinoline can be worn for a fuller looking skirt. Crinolines are available in many different styles and fullness. Built in netting can also be removed if a smaller skirt is desired.

We recommend using a cloth measuring tape for accuracy. We do not advise measuring yourself. It is best to wear the undergarment and shoes you will wear with your gown when measuring.

Why isn't the Gown Size on the Preview Page?

The same size gown may vary in measurements (depending on the designer). Each designer uses their own size chart. To ensure proper fit and to avoid returns, the gown sizes are listed on the detailed page so the measurements are available for your review.

Can You Try on or Pick Up the Gown?

We do not have a retail store front, therefore, due to insurance restrictions; we cannot have customers visit or pickup at our warehouse.

Do We Offer Alterations?

We do not offer alterations. We highly recommend visiting a professional bridal seamstress with your gown. A seamstress needs to measure the gown on you to ensure adjustments are made in the right places for a custom fit.
