SELLING AS FOUND POLICY
You will see in some of my listings that I may mention the item will need a good cleaning. This is due to the fact that my older vintage items come from estate auctions and flea markets. These are not the cleanest places in the world. When I first started here on ebay, I did think I was going to clean my items before I list them. What happened was, I cleaned the make-up right off of a dolls face, and washed the original tag off the bottom of an art glass piece. I have come to the realization that the cleaning is best left to the buyer who will be able to take better care in preserving the patina of a vintage/antique piece. Even newer dishes can be harmed by different detergents and such. So, with keeping that in mind, I have implimented a "sell as found" policy. While I will still wipe the dust off with a dry towel, I will not do any further cleaning of the items.
If an item is in need of a repair, no matter how small I will also leave that up to the buyer. If I know how to fix or "pretty it up" I will put the instructions in my auction, but I will not do it myself. I feel that this gives you a better idea of what you are buying as well. I don't want to lead anyone into thinking they are buying something that was always in mint condition when in fact it has been repaired or parts replaced.
