Caring for Your Sterling Silver Jewelry
Sterling silver oxidizes with time, exposure to air, and chemicals. But properly maintained, silver jewelry will improve with age, developing a lush patina. Well-treated, silver can last for generations.
Store silver in a cool, dry place. Storing your silver jewelry in a re-sealable plastic bag or wrapped soft piece of cloth helps to slow the tarnishing process. This also helps prevent scratching.
Do not expose your silver to chlorine, sulfur or household cleaning supplies. They can erode the quality and sheen of the silver.
Never use liquid or paste silver cleaners on your jewelry. It should only be cleaned with a soft cloth or silver polishing cloth.
